Wireless Surround Sound
Chances are that you have heard about wireless surround sound but you may not know everything about it. If you are thinking about getting wireless surround sound for your home and you want to know some more about wireless surround sound, here are some facts about it that you may or may not know.
How Wireless Surround Sound Works
The speakers that are used for wireless surround sound are the same as any other types of speakers, with the exception that they have two more components: a transmitter and a receiver. For example, when you put in a CD or a DVD, the sound is going to go from the stereo to your transmitter, just like when you use speakers that are wired. But it’s different in the fact that the receiver is picking up sound waves just like a radio gets the FM stations.
Benefits of Wireless Surround Sound
One of the biggest and best known benefits of having wireless is the fact that there aren’t as many wires and cords. There can also be a range that is longer, because the speakers are able to be moved as long as they are in range. The wireless connection also works through walls, so if you want to put the speakers in another room, that’s not a problem.
Different Equipment
Most of the stereo systems which are created today are going to include an FM transmitter. However, if you have a stereo that is older that is being used with the home theater in your home, you are going to have to buy a FM adapter and get it hooked into your stereo so that you can use the wireless surround sound.
Better technology
There are different kinds of wireless surround sound speakers, but some of them can be very expensive. For example, there are speakers that are using the same kind of technology that headsets for Bluetooth phones use so that they can pick up the sound waves. But in addition to the high cost of those speakers, you may also need to have someone professional install them.
Concerns
There are people who are concerned about how reliable wireless surround sound systems are, but the good news is that they are very reliable. They only problems that people have is when the speakers are installed improperly, and sometimes there’s trouble when there is really bad weather, but these instances are rare.
The point is that wireless surround sound is something that is great to have and even if you have a system which is wired, it doesn’t take long to make it wireless. There are no worries about wires being all over and it makes things more exciting when you are watching a movie, especially. It makes you feel as if you are in the movie theater. Instead of just watching a movie, you are going to feel as if you are in the movie and a part of the action. That is why so many people love wireless surround sound.

I think the only real problem with wireless speakers is so much technology (cost) has be put in to the wireless part of the speaker and so little in to the actual speaker.
People assume because they are paying a lot for a speaker it’s a good speaker which in my experience to date has not really been the case.
I think products like Bose wireless surround link maybe are ideal for rear surrond speakers where speaker demand is more limited but as main speakers for a high end system there is still some way to go.
